Tue 9th Aug 2016 - 12:58am

Lincoln, NE May 25th, 2016 – Awaken eSports, LLC announces the instalation of a organizational wide Code of Conduct to form a equal opportunity for professional players, management and entertainers in the global gaming industry.

Hello to you all,

My name is Tristin, most of you know me as the founder of Awaken. Over the years, I have witnessed a great rise within the eSports and gaming entertainment field over the last 3 years, however with the great rise of eSports there has been issues on a global aspect with major organizations and the behavior behind those organizations include competitive integrity in other games, allegations of dubious behavior, and management doing potentially illegal and immoral practices.

After the last couple months of this, I and the Board of Directors have put a Code of Conduct dedicated to keeping eSports a professional and respectable industry in the world today. This means there is potential to improve competitive play, corporate business practices and lifestyle atmospheres for eSports and gaming entertainment worlwide. This will be a uphill battle for us as we want to show that we value and embody the values of a diverse, legal and equal organization that wishes to create a positive name for all eSports teams and organizations, and hold them to the highest standard.

Firstly, we are officially starting a SHARP Policy, or Sexual Harassment Accepted Response Prevention policy to help provide protection against Sexual Harassment to all players, management, gamers, entertainers, streamers, and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, national origin, disability.

This policy will take part if:

⦁ Such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of a person’s duties, acceptance, or rank.
⦁ Submission to, or rejection of, such conduct by a person is used as basis for affecting someone’s job performance or entitled decisions, or purpose/effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile, and offensive environment.

Examples may include:
⦁ Making sexual jokes, gestures, or remarks
⦁ Making comments about an individual’s appearance, body, clothing, or sexual behavior.
⦁ Spreading sexual rumors about an individual.
⦁ Persistent, unwanted requests for social (dates) or sexual activity..
⦁ Making and/or posting inappropriate sexual remarks to, or photos of, an individual via social media sites, text message, or email.
⦁ Conduct of a sexual nature intended to embarrass, intimidate, demean, or degrade an individual.
⦁ Intimidating someone in a sexual manner.

If the policy is in favor of the victim which has been sexually harassed, said victim will have (at his/her request) the right to request reassignment or transfer from their current squad, division, or any other assigned group that they may be in. If accused is found guilty, he/she will be effectively removed from Awaken on ground of violating this policy.

Secondly, we are restructuring our Equal Opportunity Policy, to provide equal gaming opportunities to all gamers, management, entertainers, streamers, partners and affiliates and not to discriminate on any basis prohibited by, but is not limited to, the law, including previous or current skill, race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, & disability. It is our intent and desire that equal gaming opportunities will be provided in recruitment, position selection, promotions, demotions, and all other terms and conditions regarding membership, including what is offered to players during negotiation periods, as Awaken is committed to maintaining a work environment that furthers the development of all its players, management, entertainers and streamers, while encouraging cooperation and teamwork, and any member who is caught violating this policy or knowingly retaliates against an members or affiliates reporting or complaining of a violation of this policy shall be subject to immediate disciplinary action, and the matter will be  promptly investigated and handled with due regard for the privacy and respect of all members involved.

Lastly, we are installing a Confidentiality of Business Information policy, to secure confidential and proprietary information, including the confidential and proprietary information of our members, customers and users. As a result, members must not disclose to any third party all confidential and proprietary information belonging to Awaken or its programs. Such protected information includes, but is not limited to, the following: product research and designs;  matters of a business nature, such as  customer contact information, associate information, candidate and recruit lists and information, member information, placement information, sales, financial and marketing data, systems, forms, methods, procedures, and analyses, and any other proprietary information, concerning Awaken or its members, users and customers’ operations and business.

All players, management, entertainers, streamers, and staff will/are required to sign a Confidentiality/Non-Solicitation Agreement as a condition to maintain the confidentiality of information entrusted to them, except when disclosure is authorized by appropriate officers of the Company, and anyone caught illegally disclosing the use of trade secrets or confidential business information will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination, and possibly legal action, regardless of whether they actually benefit from the disclosure.

I hope you all understand and we hope to bring a chance to not only Awken but eSports as a whole.

Thank you,
Tristin Chambers
